About TFM
The Tulsa Farmers’ Market (TFM) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with the robust vision of “Revolutionizing the Way Tulsa Eats”. As the largest farmers market in the state of Oklahoma, TFM has supported hundreds of farmers, ranchers, artisans, bakers, chefs, and other food producers over the last 26 years and will continue to nourish healthy connections between local producers and the community for years to come!
With over 100 vendors in its membership, TFM offers a diverse selection of nutrient dense Oklahoma Grown products. In addition to being a vibrant marketplace for local producers to directly connect with their consumers and make much needed income to sustain their businesses, TFM is also a place of community for all Tulsans and an educational hub promoting the benefits of knowing your farmer, eating fresh local foods, and growing your own food. TFM also advocates for healthier lifestyles and environmental stewardship at the Market and through community outreach.

Position Description: The Marketing Support & Social Media Manager helps Tulsa Farmers’ Market tell its story, promote its weekly markets and programs, and connect our community with local farmers, ranchers, food producers, sponsors, and partners.
This is a hands-on communications role responsible for maintaining TFM’s social media presence, supporting email and website communications, creating engaging educational content, and helping promote market events and programs. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and creative communicator who enjoys working with people, capturing the energy of a farmers market, and turning everyday market moments into compelling stories.
The position works closely with the Executive Director and TFM team to ensure communications are timely, accurate, engaging, and aligned with TFM’s mission.
Primary Responsibilities
Social Media Management
Manage TFM’s day-to-day presence on Facebook and Instagram, and other platforms as deemed necessary.
Develop and publish multiple posts each week.
Create engaging content promoting:
Weekly markets
Local farmers and ranchers
Seasonal products
New and returning vendors
TFM programs and initiatives
Special events
Nutrition education
Food access programs
Community partnerships
Develop Instagram Stories and Reels when appropriate.
Monitor and respond to comments and direct messages.
Maintain a consistent, welcoming, and professional TFM voice across social media.
Track basic social media analytics and identify content that performs well.
Content Creation & Storytelling
Develop regular Vendor Spotlights featuring TFM farmers, ranchers, food producers, and makers.
Create Sponsor Highlights that recognize and promote TFM sponsors and community partners.
Develop educational content about local food, agriculture, seasonal eating, nutrition, and supporting local producers.
Gather photos, videos, quotes, and stories from vendors and community members.
Help build a library of quality photos and digital content for ongoing TFM use.
Weekly Newsletter
Assist with the development and distribution of TFM’s weekly email newsletter.
Gather information from staff, vendors, and partners to create timely newsletter content.
Highlight upcoming markets, events, vendors, seasonal products, programs, and community news.
Maintain consistent messaging and branding across email communications.
Website & Event Calendar
Make routine updates to the TFM website.
Add and update events on the online event calendar.
Update event details, market information, program announcements, and other time-sensitive content.
Ensure public-facing information is accurate and current.
Market & Event Promotion
Develop promotional campaigns for special events, seasonal initiatives, and TFM programs.
Help create promotional timelines for major events and campaigns.
Attend select market days and events to gather photos, videos, interviews, and real-time content.
Coordinate with the Executive Director and market staff to ensure important announcements are communicated effectively.
Marketing Support
Assist with flyers, digital graphics, promotional materials, and other marketing projects.
Support sponsor recognition and fulfillment of marketing commitments.
Assist with fundraising, membership, program, and community engagement campaigns as needed.
Maintain organized digital files for photos, graphics, logos, and marketing materials.
Qualifications
Required
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Experience managing social media for an organization, business, nonprofit, or community initiative.
Strong knowledge of Facebook and Instagram.
Ability to create engaging and visually appealing content.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Comfortable communicating with farmers, vendors, sponsors, community partners, and the public.
Passion for local food, agriculture, farmers markets, and community development.
Preferred
Experience with Canva or similar graphic design platforms.
Experience with Mailchimp or another email marketing platform.
Experience with Squarespace or another website content management system.
Photography and/or short-form video experience.
Experience working in a nonprofit or community-based organization.
Familiarity with Oklahoma agriculture and Tulsa's local food system.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a creative, reliable, community-minded storyteller who can take initiative and turn a farmers market into compelling content.
You don't have to be a professional photographer or marketing strategist, but you should know what makes a good story, what catches people's attention on social media, and how to communicate TFM's mission in a way that makes people want to participate.

Schedule & Work Environment
This is a part-time position averaging 15–25 hours per week.
The schedule will include a combination of remote/office work and occasional time at the farmers market, special events, and community programs. Some weekend and early-morning availability will be required to capture market content and support special events.
