Redbird Ranch Fare was established in 1995 by the Parman family, Mark, Erin, Qualla and Kern along with Mark’s mother Jo Anne near Warner, in southern Muskogee County. Mark & Erin came “home” after spending 15 years working on ranches in North Dakota and Montana. Mark helped pioneer Holistic Management of our resources in North America in the 1980’s. He worked with such visionaries as Allan Savory, Stan Parsons and Ray Banister honing his skills and working with ranchers across the northern plains. Erin and Mark were excited to return to Oklahoma to apply that knowledge to a less brittle environment.
With the idea that Healthy Soil will produce Healthy Plants which, when grazed, produce Healthy Animals to feed Healthy People, Redbird Ranch Fare has dedicated itself to improving the whole ecosystem. We manage our small ranch near Warner but we are part of a larger ecosystem. We use soil, plant and animal interactions to produce a better biosphere. But we must also use those tools to build a better community for our neighbors as well. That’s why we support our local businesses and farmers. We also volunteer our time to organizations that teach leadership and citizenship to our local youth.
