"Learning to turn wood over eight years ago, I always enjoy being the first to see what is found hidden under the bark of native Oklahoma trees. By utilizing trees recovered from urban development, storm fallen, or just logs given to me by members of the community, I’ve been able to give a second life to what would be waste. I often use turquoise, resin, and other artistic mediums in my work to create contrast in colors and textures."  -John Wagers
